Mom's Basic 5-Ingredient Lentil Soup (Fakess Soupa)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup green lentils (rinsed)
4 cup vegetable (or chicken) broth
1 cup water
2 dried bay leaves
2 tbsp tomato paste
5 smashed garlic cloves
salt and pepper to taste
Garnish with olive oil and red wine
vinegar.
4 Steps/Instructions:
Step 1: Thoroughly rinse the lentils.
Step 2: Throw all of the ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce to a simmer.
Step 3: The longer you cook it the better. Cook for at least 1 hour, you may need to add more water to the pot.
Step 4: To enjoy, serve in a bowl and drizzle olive oil and red wine vinegar on top. Yum.
